The people behind Lost Voices are more than campaigners, they are families whose lives have been forever changed by domestic abuse-related suicide.
United by lived experience, we have come together to support one another, raise awareness and advocate for meaningful change. Each member of our team understands the devastating impact of loss, the challenges of seeking answers, and the importance of ensuring that no family feels alone in their journey.
Through support, compassion and determination, we are working to give a voice to those who can no longer speak and to help create a future where other families do not have to endure the same heartbreak.
Together, our loss has become our purpose.
Sharon Holland
Co-Founder | Lost Voices
Sharon Holland, a resilient foster parent and domestic abuse survivor, tragically lost her daughter, Chloe, when she took her life after a year of coercive control.
Turning her pain into purpose, Sharon advocates for legal changes, campaigning for punitive measures against coercive control perpetrators. Her ultimate goal was a "Chloe's Law," aiming to establish a statutory offence of manslaughter by coercive control to address the severe consequences of domestic abuse connected to domestic suicide, working towards a safer society.
Jonathan Haggerty
Co-Founder | Lost Voices
Following the loss of his sister, Danielle, Jonathan helped establish Lost Voices to support families affected by domestic abuse-related suicide and to advocate for greater awareness, accountability and change.
Drawing on his personal experience, Jonathan campaigns to highlight the often-overlooked link between domestic abuse and suicide.
Jonathan is the founder of the Danielle's Law campaign, which calls for the introduction of a legal duty of care for those who knowingly abandon vulnerable people in life-threatening situations. His advocacy has contributed to national discussions on legal reform with Danielle's case being referenced by the Law Commission during its consultation on homicide law, including consideration of duty of care and domestic abuse-related suicide.
Through Lost Voices, Jonathan remains committed to ensuring that families are heard, supported and empowered to seek answers, while working towards a future where fewer lives are lost to domestic abuse.
